WON talks at ACP 2021

Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP) is now the largest conference in the Asia-Pacific region on optical communication, photonics and relevant technologies, which has been held annually tracing back to 2001 and jointly sponsored by OSA, SPIE, IEEE Photonics Society and two Chinese societies (COS and CIC).  ACP 2021  was held by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, on Oct. 24-Oct. 27, 2021. There were 3 papers presented at the Conference:

Paper 1:

Title: Observing Cross-Channel NLI Generation in Disaggregated Optical Line Systems
Authors: Elliot P. London 1, Emanuele E. Virgillito 1, Andrea D’Amico 1,  Antonio Napoli 2, Vittorio Curri 1;
1 Politecnico di Torino, Italy; 2 Infinera, Germany.
Abstract: We investigate spatially separated XPM generation in a wide variety of 400G-ZR+ 64GBd pump-and-probe simulations, demonstrating the existence of a per-span upper bound that depends solely upon accumulated dispersion

Paper 2:

Title: QoT Evaluation of Optical Line System Transmission With Bismuth-Doped Fiber Amplifiers in the E-Band
Authors: Bruno V. Araujo Correia 1, Aleksandr Donodin 2, Rasoul Sadeghi 1, Vladislav Dvoyrin 2,3, Antonio Napoli 6 , João Pedro 4,5, Nelson Costa 4 , Wladek Forysiak 2 , Sergei K. Turitsyn 2,3, Vittorio Curri 1
1 Politecnico di Torino, Italy; 2 Aston Univ., UK; 3 Novosibirsk State Univ., Russian Federation; 4 Infinera Unipessoal Lda, Portugal; 5 Instituto de Telecomunicações, Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal; 6 Infinera, UK.
Abstract: We numerically investigate E-band quality of the transmission using an experimentally characterized bismuth-doped fiber amplifier, demonstrating its impact on deployed C+L systems.

Paper 3:

Title: Doped-fiber amplifiers beyond the C+L band
Author: Aleksandr Donodin, Aston University.
