Ms. Yaonian Cui
ESR in Fraunhofer HHI
Short Bio:
Yaonian obtained her M.Sc. in TU Delft with major in Electrical Engineering. Her thesis project was focused on the mid-infrared emitter and linear variable optical filter (LVOF). After graduation, Yaonian continued to work on the same topic for few months as a researcher in TU Delft, then she moved to Berlin starting her contract in the ETN WON project in Fraunhofer HHI.
Early-Stage Researcher 13
Title: Ultra-broadband Multi-Mode-Interference (MMI) couplers on Indiumphosphide (InP) using metamaterials
Overview: The aim of the project is to create the essential building blocks to fabricate broadband optical components e.g. Mach-Zehnder modulators (MZM). Optical components consist of different building blocks e.g. MMI, spot size converter, antireflective coatings which typically allow only a narrow band (C- or L-band) operation with small restrictions at the band boundaries.
