Dr. Nelson Costa received his Licenciatura degree in 2006 and his Ph.D. degree in 2012, both in electrical and computer engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST),
Lisbon Technical University, Lisbon, Portugal.  He has authored or coauthored over 30 publications in international conferences and journals. His current research interests
include advanced coherent optical modulation formats, nonlinear fibre transmission impairments, and network optimization.

In ETN WON Dr. Costa directly supervises ESR3 and act as an active member of the WON Leading team.
