Dr. Johannes Fischer joined the HHI in 2010, where he is currently leading a research group on digital signal processing within the Photonic Networks and Systems Department. He authored or co-authored more than 90 scientific publications including one book chapter. His research interests are advanced modulation formats, digital signal processing for coherent systems and real-time implementation of digital signal processing algorithms. He was involved in several national and European funded research projects such as 100GET, NGOA, SASER and IDEALIST.

Dr. Fischer is an active member of the WON Leading team and acts as day-to-day supervisor of ESR12.
